Well crafted dishes. The unforgettable taste brought back a piece of faded memory of visiting a small Chinese town long time ago.
I've been a few times and have always enjoyed the food. It's has an authentic Szechuan taste, and the food is prepared well. Pay attention to the spice markings on the menu since they are quite accurate. The single pepper dishes, like Kung Pao Chicken, are more piquant than spicy. The double pepper dishes, like Ma Po Tofu, have more spice and a good amount of peppercorn, and the triple pepper dishes, like chicken with red and green peppers, are very spicy. Those aren't bell peppers, and I enjoyed the heat. It wasn't "dumbed down" at all. Service is good as long as they're not too busy. It can be slow during lunch rush, which is common in small, new restaurants. I'm confident it will improve with practice. This is the only authentic Szechuan restaurant in the area. I went on a "ma po tofu" search of many of the Columbia area Chinese restaurants and this was very clearly the most authentic.
Awesome little place! The first dish I ordered, I thought was slightly over cooked. When I brought it to the waiter’s attention, he immediately offered to have a fresh order cooked up, but we settled on another dish; Shredded Pork with Spicy Garlic Sauce. The pork was delicious, and they even threw in a free soup, discounted the price and didn’t charge me for the hot tea. Everyone makes mistakes, but the the important is owning up to it and correcting it. I’m 100% satisfied with the food and service here, and will definitely return.
This is a real Chinese restaurant, which provides Sichuan spicy food that can rarely be found in US!
If you want authentic Chinese food come here, the dishes are so flavorful and different and the chefs can adjust spiciness level to your taste. This isn’t your average Chinese take-out place! Service was friendly and great too. Highly recommend and worth it. Beef noodles is a personal favorite.
Amazing Szechuan. Made from scratch. We ordered several items, all delicious. The fried rice is really exceptional! The wonton soup is also a favorite!!
Dining room is tidy and attractive, food is clean and while being authentic, is less greasy than other authentic Chinese places we’ve eaten at. Noodles were perfectly cooked (not chewy, not soggy), and the fried rice is also light and perfectly done. We will definitely come back!
My wife and I had a nice dinner at this place during a lunch time. We ordered two of its 12 featured entries, finding that the taste for both entries is fairly authentic and tasty. but without the excess salt or other seasonings. The chef clearly has "healthy while tasty" in his mind while preparing the entries. Also, both entries look good and delicious as well, which shows the chef's professionalism and skills. :-) We find the dining experience to be indeed excellent and satisfying. Frankly, there aren't a lot of good and authentic Szechuan cuisine restaurants in Howard County. So I find this restaurant to be a great option and destination for folks like me and my wife who like and enjoy the supposedly "spicy while tasty and delicious" real Szechuan cuisine entries!
